Earthenware Hearts - Pattern

Antique Inspirations - "Earthenware Hearts" - Finished size stuffed hearts: 9 1/4" x 7" (large redware heart), 3 1/4" x 5 1/4" (small redware heart) and 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" (small yellowware heart).   

Our original design for a trio of "shelf sitter/bowl filler" stuffed hearts, inspired by redware and yellowware pottery.  The colors of this antique earthenware - in its clay, glazes and "slip decorations" are interpreted with the choice of rich rusty red and mustard colored wools and hand-dyed variegated threads!  With simple wool applique and embroidery stitches, these hearts work up quickly to accent a pottery collection or give as gifts. Pattern includes full-scale pattern pieces, drawings of all embroidery stitches used in this design (and more!), complete step by step instructions, supplies list with sizes, colors and textures of wool pieces used in original design, list of Valdani Pearl Cotton threads used in original design and list of miscellaneous supplies needed like needles, sewing machine and stuffing!

Made from felted wool fabrics (hand-dyed and off the bolt textures) and stitched exclusively with Valdani threads (#8 pearl cottons for a primitive look).
