This is the small corn cob, still in process, but showing how the two variegated threads work up to a realistic corn cob! Please note that if you have looked at our pattern entitled "a-MAIZE-ing il-LUMINA-tion" THIS is the same gold thread combination used to make ITS Indian corn! KIT includes well-felted pale yellow wool, plus a total of 6 skeins of thread to complete the cob; as well as the wool, wire and thread for the husks.

"a-MAIZE-ing Harvest" - This kit includes everything (wool and hand-dyed threads for cob and kernels; and wool, thread and wire for husks) needed to complete the Bright Yellow corn (pictured here). The pattern"a-maize-ing Harvest" must be ordered separately (link below).  This is NOT the "gold" corn cob featured on the cover of the pattern.  This is the same size as the small RED cob featured on the cover.  Threads are hand-dyed variegated #5 pearl cotton threads by one company.  You will need 2 size #18 chenille needles when creating the kernels of corn.

    I have purchased several patterns from this designer and want to purchase more! The pattern instructions are very detailed and clear and along with the numerous pictures as a guide, I have had wonderful success in making my first half ear of corn. It is important to take time to read the instructions carefully and for me, I read them several times through. This is not a fast project. It is a project to enjoy while watching TV or listening to a book tape. Take the time and enjoy the process and you will be pleased with the end result!
