Childhood Friend - Kit

Finished size 18" x 14"; Pattern includes complete full scale pattern layout showing overlapping and under lapping layers; individually drawn pattern pieces; 12 pages of detailed, step by step instructions; and over 70 color photos of how to stitch this entire design.  Kit includes the Pattern plus the following: washed cotton background fabrics, felted wool fabrics (strips for braided rug are pre-cut), all appliqué threads, wool batting, jewelry findings, Alpaca roving and freezer paper.

Art piece can be finished framed into a shadow box frame.  Special features:  hand-braided rug, batting beneath horse, needle-felted spots on horse, dimensional saddle pad, reins and horse mane and tail.  One of the best designs to learn a variety of dimensional wool applique techniques!  

NOTE: wool batting has been substituted for the cotton stuffing originally used in the design because of the change in the manufacturing of the cotton stuffing.  Originally, Quilter's Dream Cotton Stuffing came in a roll that was able to be peeled into layers of cotton stuffing; they have since changed it to be "chunky" and so we feel the wool batting, which can be peeled into layers, will replicate the original intent of adding "stuffing" beneath the rocking horse!  Any questions, feel free to call and ask us about it!  Kathy Gaul, designer - 719-282-3518.
